Manchester City stun Man United to reclaim top spot

Manchester City got the bragging rights for Manchester Derby after beating rivals Manchester United 2-0 on Wednesday night in their Premier League encounter.

Bernardo Silva and Leroy Sane grabbed a goal each in the first half to send the defending champions to the top of the table.

Injury concern

Gundogan got flattened by Lingard about 25 yards out. It was a strong challenge and was a bit reckless with a strong follow through on the City man's calf. No foul was given but United decided to kick the ball out. Gundogan hobbled off but after being attended to medics he continued.

The football world was shaken as City took the lead. City were finding their stride in a big way. United could not live with them. Bernardo picked the ball up off the right and cut inside. Shaw couldn't get to grips with him and the midfielder powered a low shot beyond De Gea at his near post.

Sane's goal 🎥

De Gea had to do better here and Liverpool fans definitely were not happy with him. Sterling speeded away from Fred in midfield and created a three-on-three. City's pace was frightening. Sterling fed Sane, who took a touch and fired a low powerful effort straight at De Gea but it somehow beat the United stopper.

Next assignment

Pep Guardiola's men will travel to Burnley on Sunday, while the Red Devils are back at Old Trafford for another crunch clash against Chelsea.
