Nigerian defender Elderson Echiejile is neither happy nor sad after scoring his debut goal for Finnish side HJK Helsinki.
Perhaps the reason could be the 4-1 bashing by FC Inter on Monday night.
The former AS Monaco left back gave Helsinki an early lead after two minutes, but parity was restored for FC Inter eight minutes later through Timo Furuholm.
However, HJK Helsinki’s Nigeria-born Friday Obilor was sent off for a reckless tackle on a opponent to hand the host a numerical advantage.
In the second half, goals from Juuso Haemaelaeinen in the 49th minute and another from Daniel Kamy in the 63rd minute condemned HJK Helsinki their first defeat of the season.
Taking to twitter on Tuesday, Echiejile has since shifted attention to the next game.
"My goal wasn't enough to give us the victory we needed yesterday, but we will work harder next game. #hjkhelsinki."
Echiejile joined HJK Helsinki on a one-year deal in January after mutually terminating his contract with AS Monaco.
