Lionel Messi reached 600 career goals after his brace against Liverpool with Juventus coach, Massimiliano Allegri claiming the feat will inspire Cristiano Ronaldo to finish as the Serie A top scorer.
Messi showed the world what he is capable of after netting a brace in the final 15 minutes of the Champions League semi-finals first-leg against Liverpool. Ronaldo was first to that landmark after netting in Juventus 1-1 draw with Inter Milan last Saturday, his 27th goal since joining the Bianconeri from Real Madrid in the summer transfer window.
Speaking ahead of the Turin derby against Torino on Friday 3rd May, Allegri revealed that Messi's 600 goals will inspire Ronaldo, "Messi is a good stimulus for Cristiano. We have a derby and Messi achieved that [600 goals] yesterday. He will be fired up to move ahead in the scoring and he aims to finish as top-scorer in Serie A."
Ronaldo is currently fourth on the top scorer's table having netted 20 league goals and is three shy of Fabio Quagliarella who leads the chats.
