Tottenham defender Danny Rose has revealed how Mauricio Pochettino used Liverpool's comeback as an inspiration before their epic 3-2 comeback win over Ajax in the Champions League.
Lucas Moura scored a sensational hat-trick as Spurs overturned a 1-0 first leg deficit to book a place in the final for the first time in their history at the expense of Ajax.
The previous night, Liverpool had achieved a more similar feat by overturning a 3-0 first leg deficit against Barcelona to win 4-3 on aggregate and book a place in the final in Madrid next month.
"We saw Liverpool last night,” Rosse was quoted as saying by the Daily Star.
“It goes to show it's not over until it's over.
“Disappointed with the first leg how we started and we started like that tonight.
“But after the break we came out.
"The gaffer mentioned Liverpool's display at the hotel before the match.
"We're lucky we've gone through and we look forward to the Champions League final."
Next months final will be the first one between two English teams since 2008 when Manchester United beat Chelsea to the title.
