Chelsea bound winger Christian Pulisic was given an emotional send-off by Borrusia Dortmund in their final home game of the season on Saturday.
Pulisic is set to join the Blues in the summer after he completed a £58million switch to Stamford Bridge in January. The Blues immediately loaned back the United States international and he can still be registered as Chelsea player despite the looming transfer ban. Dortmund registered a 3-2 win over visiting Fortuna Düsseldorf with the away side being forced to finish with ten men after Adam Bodzek saw red.
“Thank you for five wonderful years. Without you fans, I would not be here. Dortmund will always feel like home. All the best and hopefully see you again one day,” he told the crowd.
He was picked to start by manager Lucien Favre and there was a presentation before the match, with the famous Yellow Wall standing to salute the youngster. Pulisic was given a bouquet of flowers and several gifts in an extremely classy gesture from Dortmund before walking around the stadium and saluting the fans.
Pulisic was on target for Dortmund, opening the scoring for his side in the 41st minute.
