Harambee Stars midfielder Christopher Mbamba scored in his third appearance for IK Oddevold as his side drew 3-3 with former employers Oskarshamns AIK in a Swedish Division One tie on Sunday 12 May.

Hosts Oddevold took a 25th-minute lead through Kamal Mustafa but AIK leveled the scores ten minutes later through Filip Jagerbrink; the goals being the difference as both teams headed for a breather.

On resumption, Mbamba was to restore the hosts lead in the 51st minute but his goal was canceled by Christopher Christensson. AIK was to take the lead for the first time in the tie in the 83rd minute through Filip again but Pelle Odlund ensured the hosts earned a point with a goal deep in stoppage time.

Call Up

Mbamba who is yet to feature for Harambee Stars despite being handed a call up by head coach Sebastien Migne in his last game of the 2019 AFCON Qualifiers against Ghana had been featuring for Oskarshamns for the better part of his career but joined Oddevolvd on April 1st 2019 in move seen as a ploy to look for more game time ahead of the AFCON showpiece.

Since his arrival at his new club, the midfielder has made three appearances against Skovde AIK, Tvaaker, and Oskarshamns; the player accumulating a total of 116 minutes in those ties. He has started one game (against his former employers) and been introduced twice.

Oddevold is currently placed 12th in the 16 team log with eight points after seven round of matches and will hope they can climb further the table when they face Lund in their next league game.

It was a good weekend for Kenyans as striker Michael Olunga notched the lone goal as his Kashiwa Reysol emerged 1-0 winners over Tokushima Vortis in the Japanese J2 League.
