Nzoia Sugar head coach Godfrey Oduor has blamed his team’s lack of concentration in their Sunday 12 May 1-1 draw against Tusker FC at the Ruaraka Grounds.
Nzoia had taken a 51st-minute lead through Dwag Jackson and were headed for a collection of three important points only for the hosts to restore parity in stoppage time via Amin Muzerwa and according to Oduor lack of concentration was a major factor in the result.
“I can’t fault the boys for their overall performance but we ought to have picked all the points today. We took a lead at a perfect time but lost concentration when it mattered,” Nzoia said.
Speaking on the tactics deployed by his charges in the tie, Oduor said they had expected a tight game since Ruraka Grounds was a small ground and coped well with the demands of the ground.
“Ruaraka is a small pitch and we had to cope with the demands. We came with tactics that suited the grounds and I felt it worked. Ours now is to continue working and hopefully we can pick all the points in our coming match,” Oduor added.
The draw left Nzoia at 12th position on the log with 33 points.
