Pitso says Chiefs should have kept Komphela

Mamelodi Sundowns coach Pitso Mosimane feels Steve Komphela could have placed Kaizer Chiefs in the top three, had he been kept.

Chiefs missed out on MTN8 qualification after finishing in ninth position, thanks to a 1-0 loss to Chippa United on the final day of the season. This has driven Mosimane to state that Chiefs’ mistake was parting with Komphela.

“I think Steve Khompela did a very good job there‚ he could have finished second or even third‚” Mosimane told journalists.

“But they removed him and you know I was not happy when they did that.

"I have always told you guys that you can remove him because he has not won the title for the last three years but is he the only one?

Mosimane added thay Chiefs fans must be encouraged that coach Ernst Middendorp is showing faith in youth.

“I can see that coach Middendorp is brave and he wants the youth more‚" he said.
