Spanish giants Barcelona will make another attempt to sign Atletico Madrid striker Antoine Griezmann in the summer.
The Catalans are keen to replace Luis Suarez who is aging and will try to land the Frenchman who rejected the club last year. Griezzman’s reasons of turning down a move to Nou Camp was due to internal struggles about whether to make the move in a landmark documentary called The Decision, which was produced by a company owned by Barca's Gerard Pique.
After rejecting Barcelona move, the Frenchman ended up signing a new contract with Madrid until 2023 with which initially raised his release clause to €200m. According to Catalan newspaper Sport, Barcelona have set their eyes on Griezmann again and plan to fund paying his release clause of €120m by selling Brazilian Philippe Coutinho, who cost them a club record €165m.
