Manchester City clinched the 2018-2019 English Premier League with a single point over Liverpool as Aymeric Laporte revealed that consistency and maximum focus handed them an edge over the Reds.
The French defender was one of the Blues’ key performers in a thrilling campaign which went right down to the final day and even bagged a goal in the 4-1 win over Brighton and Hove Albion that handed them the title last weekend. Liverpool only suffered a single defeat all season which came against City back in January but seven draws all season ultimately cost them the title.
Laporte was asked what handed them the edge over Liverpool in the title race, "I think the key factor has been our consistency, being always focused 100 percent, don't make many mistakes and make the most of our opportunities. It's been a constant fight, game after game, we were winning our games, but Liverpool too. We managed to keep the point of advantage until the end. We are very happy and now it's time to celebrate.”
