Sebastien Migne explains inclusion of two Kariobangi Sharks goalkeepers in AFCON squad

Harambee Stars head coach, Sebastien Migne raised eyebrows after including two Kariobangi Sharks goalkeepers in the name of Brian Bwire and John Oyemba in the Harambee Stars provisional squad as he revealed that Bwire will be a reserve player.

Bwire has been a regular squad member in the African Cup of Nations qualifiers but missed the final Group F encounter against Ghana with John Oyemba replacing him. Bwire played in the Kenya Under 23 Olympic cum U23 African Cup of Nations qualifiers against Sudan where the Emerging Stars lost out 2-0 on aggregate.

Speaking in a press conference while announcing the AFCON and CHAN squads, Migne clarified Bwire's inclusion in the squad, "For the four goalkeepers, only three will be in France with me, I can tell you today, the young Bwire normally will stay at home but if we have an injury we prepare everything in terms of regulations to react immediately."

The two goalkeepers have alternated their places in goal at Kariobangi Sharks this season. The African Cup of Nations is slated for June 21st to July 19th with Kenya kick off the tournament against Algeria on Sunday 23rd June.
