How Arsenal planned Europa League trophy parade even before quarter-finals

As Arsenal prepare to battle Chelsea for the Europa League title on May 29, it has now emerged that the Gunners started planning for the celebrations way before they got to the final.

Arsenal, who finished fifth in the Premier League, eased past Valencia over the two legs in the semi-finals to book a spot in the final against Maurizio Sarri's charges.

Emails seen by the Daily Mail, confirm that Arsenal have been plotting a trophy parade Islington Council since early March.

An email dated March 7 read: “Whilst there is still a long way to go and much to plan, in principle, could you support an event?”

A further email said: “Arsenal are doing some early planning and have asked whether we would be supportive of a parade IF they won…”

The club's request to hold a parade if Emery's side were to go all the way was approved the following day.

A win in Baku will secure Arsenal Champions League football next season and would represent their first major trophy since winning the FA Cup in 2017.
