Sony Sugar extended their unbeaten run to six games after overcoming Kariobangi Sharks 2-0 in a Kenyan Premier League match staged at the Awendo Green Stadium on Wednesday 15 May.
The hosts took the lead just after two minutes through Solomon Omondi; a lead they were to preserve until the half time break. Captain Enock Agwanda wrapped up the points with a goal four minutes from time.
The win moves Sony Sugar to sixth on the league log with 49 points; the same number of points as Mathare United who have a superior goal difference.
The loss means Sharks have only won one of their last twelve games and it leaves head coach William Muluya with a lot to ponder as the team remains placed tenth on the log with 38 points. The win was Sony’s 14th of the season with Shark’s loss being their eighth of the 2018/19 campaign.
Sony will be hoping they can extend their unbeaten streak to seven games when they come up against bottom-placed Mount Kenya United in Machakos at a time when Sharks will be taking on newbies KCB FC at the MISC Kasarani.
