Former Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho has 'given' the club 'his blessings' in the efforts by the club to sign Lille winger Nicolas Pepe.
The 23-year-old is highly rated in Europe and has become the subject of interest from top European clubs with a view of signing him at the end of the current campaign.
"I don’t know what my next club will be! But everyone knows that he is a quality player in the making," he said after he was asked by L’Equipe on whether he could sign Pepe for his club.
"He played almost every game, he was decisive for his team," he added.
The 23-year-old is said to be nearing Old Trafford move, with reports indicating the two clubs have met and been in discussion over the move.
Pepe has been one of the best players in Ligue 1 this season, scoring 20 goals and registering 11 assists in 36 appearances.
Manchester United will be in need of a winger as they look to revamp the team, with the likes of Alexis Sanchez likely to leave.
He is valued at £70 million by the French club.
