Paul Aigbogun was relieved when winger Success Makanjuola scored the equaliser that saw Nigeria U20 force a 1-1 draw with Red Bull Salzburg in a pre-World Cup friendly.
The Nigeria U20s were trailing 1-0 before the nippy left winger was introduced to re-energise the attack.
Aigbogun knows the importance of not losing the match as he heads into the FIFA U20 World Cup in Poland, and he has taken time to hail the young lad.
“Makanjuola was the game changer, he is the only natural left-footed player in the team who plays from wings and his introduction was the tonic needed to level scores and give the other team more to worry about,” Aigbogun remarked.
The Flying Eagles play their first match against Qatar on May 24 before going on to play USA and Ukraine in the remaining group mathes.
