Wolves make bid for West Brom's Salomon Rondon
Premier League side Wolverhampton Wanderers are lining up to sign Salomon Rondon amid increasing interest from Newcastle United.
The Daily Mail reported that Rondon is set to make his way to parent club West Bromwich Albion after a successful loan spell at St James Park this season.
The 29-year-old managed to score 12 goals and produced seven assists, eleven of those came from the Premier League.
Newcastle manager Rafa Benitez has shared his keen interest in signing the striker permanently in the summer, after such an eye-catching time on loan with the North East club, but they could be set for some major competition.
Reports now claim that Wolves are keen on a summer move for the towering forward, who has a buy-out clause of £16.5million in his contract at the Hawthorns, meaning that either team can go on to negotiate personal terms with him once activated.
Newcastle is likely to be Rondon’s preferred destination this summer, but the lure of potential Europa League football at Molineux next term could be too good to turn down.
