Leicester City duo Ben Chilwell and Harry Maguire have been handed call-ups to the England provisional squad ahead of the UEFA Nations League in June.
However, despite being on top form this season, Gareth Southgate has reportedly chosen to leave out James Maddison out of the senior squad in order for him to prepare for the U21 Euro Championships in Italy.
Chilwell and Maguire each played in three of England’s four Nations League group games as the Three Lions got the better of Croatia and Spain to reach the inaugural finals.
Hosted in Portugal, England will take on the Netherlands in the semi-finals on Thursday, June 6, before playing either Switzerland or Portugal in the final or third-place play-off on Sunday, June 9.
Maddison will instead join Demarai Gray, Hamza Choudhury and Harvey Barnes in Aidy Boothroyd's U21 squad, who begin their European Championship finals on June 18.
