Bandari came from a goal down to register a 3-1 win over visiting Tusker FC at Mbaraki Sports Club in a Kenyan Premier League match played on Thursday 17th.
Bernard Mwalala's side found themselves behind in the 23rd minute thanks to Eugine Asike's goal. However, Bandari made a comeback, scoring three past Mvuyekure thanks to Shaban Kenga, Yema Mwana and Benjamin Mosha's strikes. The win sends the Dockers second on the log, with 58 points, eight points behind leaders Gor Mahia and two above third-placed Sofapaka.
Bandari had a perfect start to the match, seeing much of the possession in the opening minutes. Yema Mwana dribbled past Tusker defender before laying it to Shaban Kenga who spotted Nkata on the run but the beautiful move yielded to nothing.
Despite early chances, Tusker took the lead through Asike. Naftali’s powerful header was saved by Faruk but Asike took the chances and scored from the rebound to hand the Breweries lead at Mbaraki.
Bandari were level through Shaban Kenga. Abdallah Hassan took a long shot which was blocked by Mvuyekure and Wadri reacted to the shot and crossed it back. Kenga rose high and headed in past the keeper to level the score.
Immediately after the restart of the second half, the Mombasa based side took the lead for the first time in the match thanks to Mwema’s strike. Tusker keeper received a back pass with the wrong foot and could not control the ball gifting Mwana an opportunity to slot home.
In the stoppage time, Bandari were awarded a freekick with Abdallah Hassan stepping up to take it. The keeper punched his effort and Benjamin Mosha was in the right position to extend Bandari's lead.
The Dockers will be home at Mbaraki on Sunday 19th to take on Zoo Kericho who beat Chemelil Sugar 2-1 on Wednesday 15th.
