With just nine days left to the UEFA Europa League final against Arsenal, Chelsea left-back Marcos Alonso has revealed that they will take a break before returning to training in preparations for the final.

Chelsea faced an unwelcome distraction as they jetted off across the Atlantic to take part in a friendly against MLS side New England Revolution which they won 3-0 but came at an expense, with Ruben Loftus-Cheek suffering an injury. Now that the Chelsea team are back in the capital ahead of the final in Azerbaijan at the end of the month, they can get through their paces before facing the Gunners.

Speaking to the club's official portal, Alonso revealed Chelsea's preparations ahead of the final, "We have a couple of days to rest now but of course we will be with our head in the game so there will be a little bit of light training and then in two days we are back to full training to be ready for the final.

"A final for a European title, it is massive for us and we will try to prepare 120 percent and try to bring the trophy back to London."
