Liverpool have received a timely boost ahead of their Champions League final against Tottenham Hotspurs, with news that Roberto Firminho is recovering well and might make it for the finals.
Manager Jurgen Klopp, speaking after a successful training on Thursday said the striker, who has been out due to a muscle strain is making an improved recovery.
“We have a few days still and want to use them, that’s why he is in, out, in, out. Yesterday, he was only playing as a ‘joker’ [in the small-sided games] but it is good for him, the first step to play football again," he added.
“Today he was in around about 70 percent of the session. Tomorrow he will probably be in complete, we will see, then hopefully it will be fine.”
Meanwhile, Naby Keita has as well stepped up rehabilitation, as he looks to recover from a high-grade adductor injury, which he suffered during the Champions League first leg against Barcelona.
The Guinea international is way ahead of schedule in his recovery, but the finals might come too soon for him.
