Cape Town City chairman John Comitis has commented on the reported interest Kaizer Chiefs have on Benni McCarthy.

According to local sources close to Chiefs, the club, after a dismal season, have set sights on acquiring McCarthy to take over at the Soweto giants.

Reacting to the rumours, Cape Town City big boss Comitis said he is oblivious to it all.

“No, I am not aware of this,” Comitis told Kick Off.

“But there’s nothing I can do. It’s like something attacking your country, you know. You can counter attack by keeping them away,” Comitis added.
