Mauricio Pochettino responds to Real Madrid links ahead of Champions League final

24 May 2019, 11:20

Tottenham Hotspur manager, Mauricio Pochettino is a wanted man with reports linking him with a move to Real Madrid and Juventus as he admitted that he would like to manage at the Santiago Bernabeu one day.

Pochettino has had a wonderful season with Spurs, guiding them to a UEFA Champions League final and a place in the top four. The Argentine has managed to do so without any budget with their last signing coming in the 2018 January transfer window. With Massimiliano Allegri confirmed to leave Juventus when the Serie A season comes to end, Pochettino has been tipped to replace him.

In an interview with El Partidazo de Cope, Pochettino revealed that he had a chat with Real Madrid president about taking up the Bernabeu dugout, "Real Madrid? I have no other goals if I am not training Tottenham; football takes you where you deserve. Ahead of the final, we will train at Valdebebas and sleep in a nearby hotel. I asked Florentino to let us sleep in the sports center, but he told me that I can only sleep there when I become the coach of Real Madrid."
