Pochettino's comments that have put in 'trouble' with Real Madrid
Tottenham Hotspur coach Mauricio Pochettino has found himself on the receiving end of Real Madrid's obvious anger, after his 'false' comments that they were denied the chance to use Madrid's training ground.
Spurs are preparing for the finals of the Champions League against Liverpool on June 1st at the Wendo Metropolitano, which is located within Madrid, and were looking to set camp at the Los Blancos' training ground.
However, according to Pochettino, Madrid were unwilling to let them use the team's training ground hotel, forcing them to settle for Valdebebas training complex.
"Ahead of the final, we will train at Valdebebas and sleep in a nearby hotel," said the Argentine while speaking to El Partidazo de Cope this week early this week.
"I asked Florentino to let us sleep in the sports centre, but he told me that I can only sleep there when I become the coach of Real Madrid," he added.
This statement seems to have angered Madrid's top management, who, led by President Florentino Perez, have accused the coach of lying.
In a statement on Friday, the club said the statement was 'false', and that all requests made to the club regarding the Champions League final had been dealt with and approved.
This latest development will most likely soil the relationship between Pochettino and Madrid, as he was seen as the perfect man for the club's managerial job in future.
Spurs will head to Madrid next week in preparations for the finals.
