Mamelodi Sundowns coach Pitso Mosimane has revealed having a rare long preseason and plans to use the time well.
Having participated in the past five CAF Champions League editions, and following CAF’s decision to move the champions league to August-May, Mosimane will enjoy a new work gap.
“I have never had this before,” Mosimane said to Soccer Laduma.
“The players are going to have six weeks off, with the exception of Bafana players (who are going to the AFCON). Maybe we will be bored because we are not used to training.
The former Bafana Bafana says that the time will allow him to focus on finding a new striker as well as having a look at the academy hopefuls.
“I could have time to bring the people that I want to bring like a striker. It also gives me enough time in training to see what we have.
“The younger players didn’t have a chance to play because it was winning at all cost. But now they will get to train and it will help us and them to improve as well,” concluded Mosimane.
