Reports from Football Inside 247 suggest that Everton midfielder Nikola Vlasic is eyeing a move away from the Merseyside club with Newcastle said to be interested in the summer.
Vlasic had an impressive loan spell at CSKA Moscow in the 2018/19 season where he made 31 appearances tallying 8 goals and 7 assists.
The 21-year-old initially joined Everton for £10 million from Hajduk Split in the summer before he was to discover that his first season in the Premier League was going to be tough.
When new manager Marco Silva arrived on the scene, it got even tougher for the youngster as he continuously found himself on the sidelines.
In April 2018, Silva comment on Vlasic's situation and the progress going forward: “We wanted Nikola to play as much as possible to demonstrate his best qualities,”
“We are watching him very closely.
“When the right time comes, we will make a decision for him. I am pleased that he is playing regular football, that’s the reason why we sent him to Russia in the first place.”
Despite these comments in the media, it has emerged that Vlasic wants to leave Everton permanently and the Toffees' Director of Football Marcel Brands is said to be looking for a deal for the Croatian who is currently valued at £12 million.
With CSKA Moscow likely unable to afford that price tag, one can only wonder if Newcastle would be interested in Vlasic at this time. He obviously has the ability and would fit Newcastle’s current system.
