Ahead of the UEFA Nations League final on Sunday 9th June, Cristiano Ronaldo has called on to Portugal fans to back their team as they take on the Netherlands.
This would be the third time that the Portuguese National Team plays to win a major trophy as they have already played in the 2004 and 2016 Euro finals. Ronaldo scored a hat-trick against Switzerland to send Portugal to the finals after a 3-1 scoreline. The game will be a battle between Ronaldo and Virgil van Dijk as the Juventus forward will become the last top player who will attempt to dribble past Virgil van Dijk this season.
In an interview with uefa.com, Ronaldo called on Portugal supporters to cheer on their team as they take on the Netherlands in the final, "I want to mention our fans because they played a crucial role in our win. Their support was great and I want to leave here a message to them that in the final we can have a sold-out stadium and that they support us from start to end. That will give us motivation and a lot of strength so we can win this competition which is something we desire."
