Manchester United will turn to Tottenham ace Christian Eriksen if Real Madrid succeeds in their pursuit of Frenchman Paul Pogba.
The Manchester club has maintained that Pogba is not for sale and will not leave the club, but reports are now emerging that Madrid will stop at nothing in their pursuit of the World Cup winner.
According to the Evening Standard, United are adamantly drawing a list of possible replacements, and top of the list is the Danish international, who has shone at Spurs in many seasons now.
Madrid are said to be considering a swap deal for Pogba involving Gareth Bale, who is considered surplus by coach Zinedine Zidane.
The Welsh international has fallen down the pecking order at Madrid and might be willing to find a new challenge if an offer comes through.
Pogba, on the other hand, is said to be unsettled at United, and clash with fans on the last day of the Premier League was a culmination of a frustrating season.
He has, as recent as April, said he would love to play under Zinedine Zidane and Madrid and might be willing to play in Spain if the clubs agree.
