Luka Modric: Real Madrid will be better

11 Jun 2019, 21:30

Luka Modric is confident Real Madrid will bounce back stronger next season after a disappointing 2019/20 season.

Los Blancos finished fourth in La Liga behind cross-town rivals Atletico Madrid and champions Barcelona and were Knocked out of the Champions League at the last 16 stage by Ajax.

"It'll be a better Madrid. I expect a competitive Real Madrid in all aspects and for all titles, something we didn't do last season," the Ballon d'Or Spanish TV show Universo Valdano, when asked about the 'new' Real Madrid.

"I am one of the elders of the team now, which is a responsibility, and one I like to have. I am sure Madrid will have a better season, and let's see if we can win some important titles, something the fans deserve.

"Last year wasn't good, but I'm sure that big players will arrive, which is what we need. I'm looking forward to a great campaign for me and Real Madrid. Bring on the new season!"

Real Madrid have been on a spending spree in preparation for next season having already completed deals for Luka Jovic and Chelsea star Eden Hazard.
