IF Brommapojkarna star Eric Johanna is relishing the chance to play against Africa's best and is confident Harambee Stars will make an impact at the Africa Cup of Nations.
The midfielder, who made the cut for Sebastien Migne's Stars is among the team's players playing abroad and is expected to play a crucial role in the finals.
Speaking to Football Kenya Federation in their camp in Dubai, Johanna noted that they have a good team with perfect leadership, which will be crucial in the finals.
"...this is a good excitement, we want to put our country somewhere in the map of African football, we wan tot stamp our authority at the AFCON, and this will be vital because we have a good team, we have good leadership in the team and it will be vital for us," he added.
He also revealed the motivation behind their qualification for the finals, after a 15-year absence.
"The turning point for us was when we saw Uganda qualify for the AFCON, and we said they are playing in the AFCON, they are doing well, so there is something they are doing that we are not doing. Most of the players we have in the camp have not played in the AFCON, which is good since we go there all fresh," he added.
Johanna is also confident to add something fresh to the team and thinks he can get a couple of goals like what he did against Ethiopia during the qualifiers.
Stars are pooled alongside neigbours Tanzania, Algeria an Senegal, and will start their campaign against Algeria.
