Esperance players dominate Tunisia's final 23-man AFCON squad
Reigning African Champions Esperance de Tunis had five players included in the Tunisian final 23-man squad for the 2019 African Cup of Nations with Wahbi Khazri headlining the names in the list.
Al Ahly’s left-back Ali Maaloul was the biggest casualty in the squad after he was omitted despite enjoying an impressive season, scoring six goals while assisting seven in 24 games. Zamalek’s Ferjani Sassi has made the list despite being sidelined due to injuries since April.
Tunisia are drawn in Group E alongside Mali, Angola, and debutants Mauritania, with their first game taking place against Angola on June 24.
