Munetsi explains why Mhofu is a father figure

13 Jun 2019, 14:10

Former Orlando Pirates and France-bound defender-cum-midfielder Marshall Munetsi reveals why coach Sunday Chidzambga is a father figure.

Munetsi told the media how he is amazed by Chidzambga’s skills to unite the Warriors, particularly in creating the collective quality of the team.

“Coach Sunday is a father figure first of all. He takes care of everyone, and not looking at where you come from or your background," Munetsi told News Day

Munetsi added that "Mhofu” has paternal qualities that inspire him to make the coach proud.

“He is a person who talks to players personally, trying to improve our game and giving us the platform to play. He gave me this opportunity to play for the national team, and I have done my best not to let him down,” added the 22-year-old new Reims player.

Zimbabwe will open AFCON 2019 against hosts Egypt on 21 June.
