13 Jun 2019, 19:00

Ghana international Musah Nuhu is set to be sidelined for up to seven months, after undergoing a knee ligament surgery in Switzerland.

The FC St. Gallen defender suffered the ligament rupture while in training with the Black Stars in Dubai, as the team prepared for the Africa Cup of Nations tournament set to kick off on June 21st.

The 22-year-old underwent successful surgery in Switzerland after his club requested the Black Stars camp to allow him to fly back for treatment.

Nuhu was scheduled to make his debut for the Black Stars, only for the injury to ruin his dream.

The former WAFA SC moved to St. Gallen on a permanent deal in May, after a successful loan stint where he scored a single goal in 13 matches.

Meanwhile, Ghana is preparing for the Africa Cup of Nations tourney, which expected to start on June 21st in Egypt.

Black Stars will play their second and last friendly match against Bafana Bafana, before flying to Egypt ready to battle for Africa's biggest footballing trophy.
