After reports linking him with a move to Manchester United emerged, Jasper Cillessen has admitted it could be difficult for him to leave Barcelona this summer.
David De Gea is yet to commit his future at United with the Red Devils reportedly turning their attentions to the Netherlands shot-stopper. It was reported by the Daily Record last month that Cillessen had emerged as the 'leading candidate' to replace De Gea, whose contract at United expires at the end of next season. De Gea has been linked with a move to Paris Saint Germain following the departure of Gianluigi Buffon.
In an interview with Voetbal International, Cillessen spoke on his future at Barcelona, "My release clause doesn’t make it easy for me to transfer. It’s clear that Barca won’t let me leave for an apple and an egg. The market is really crazy. Honestly. It’s true they are paying incredible transfer fees for players that we all know aren’t worth that much.
"But you need to accept that it’s the market which determines the prices and each player’s situation depends on the market at the time. The club knows I’ve never been one to kick up a fuss."
