Nairobi Stima coach rues injuries and missed chances in Play Offs against Posta Rangers

After going down 2-1 in the first leg of the Kenyan Premier League Promotion/Relegation playoffs, Nairobi Stima head coach Evans Mafuta lamented at his side's failure to take their chances and injuries.

Stima had a nightmare start to the game as they went behind inside the opening five minutes when Joakins Atudo fired Posta in front with a sublime freekick. Stima, however, pulled one back at the depth of the first half through Dennis Oalo's freekick to score his 26th goal of the season. Francis Nambute restored Posta's lead midway through the second half with a bicycle kick from just outside the six-yard box.

Patrick Asiku missed a glorious chance after getting past the keeper but delayed his shot for Charles Odete to clear the ball with Mafuta ruing those missed chances, "What made us get this result was not utilizing our chances so we had ample time to win this game in the first half, you can see we had two in the second so we didn't execute our chances well."

Stima missed the influential trio of Curtis Wekesa, Victor Omune, and Peter Oudo with Mafuta terming their injuries as a "big blow", "I think it was a big blow to my side, missing Curtis, Omune, Peter, Omune they had some knocks in the training session so we could not use them but they will be available for the second leg."
