Former Gor Mahia coach Dylan Kerr has been appointed as the new head coach of Botswana champions side Township Rollers on a two-year deal according to reports.
Kerr has been a free agent following his departure from South Africa Premier Soccer League side Black Leopards; a team he helped escape relegation.
The Englishman arrives at the club to replace a familiar foe in Rodolfo Zapata who previously coached AFC Leopards in the Kenyan Premier League; Argentine Zapata having been sent home on Sunday.
As reported by KickOff, Zapata lost control of the dressing room and was not on good terms with players such as Joel Mogorosi and Edwin Moalosi.
“Though he won the league, it was not enough to save his job. He lost in the Mascom Top 8 semifinals and the last straw was on Saturday when he was beaten 3-0 in the final of the Orange FA Cup played at Francistown Sports Complex,” the informant told Kick Off.
Kerr will hope he can take Rollers in the next level of the CAF Champions League with the team having exited the competition in the groups where they finished last behind Al Ahly, ES Tunis and KCCA FC.
