Sky Sports understands that Chelsea has rejected a bid from La Liga giants Barcelona for their Brazilian winger Willian.
The two La Liga clubs are understood to have offered around £35m for the Brazil international.
However, Chelsea views Willian as an integral player next season in light of Eden Hazard’s departure to Real Madrid and the first period of a two-window transfer ban imposed by FIFA.
It’s been reported that Chelsea may be able to avoid losing the 30-year old for free next July if they can reach an agreement over a new two-year deal at Stamford Bridge.
This comes at a time when the club is looking to fill the head coach gap left by the departure of Maurizzo Sarri who has since left for Juventus.
Willian joined Chelsea from Russian side Anzhi after it was claimed that he was headed to sign for Tottenham Hotspur.
