Emerson reveals Eden Hazard's farewell message in Chelsea WhatsApp group

19 Jun 2019, 01:00

Following his move to Real Madrid, Eden Hazard's farewell message in Chelsea's WhatsApp group before his move to the Spanish giants has been revealed by Emerson Palmieri.

Hazard completed a move to Real Madrid in a deal worth £88m and signed a contract that is set to expire on June 30, 2024. The 28-year-old had made no secret of his desire to join Madrid, calling the move a 'dream' near the beginning of the 2018-19 season.

Speaking in an interview with ESPN Brazil, Chelsea defender Emerson revealed what Hazard said in Chelsea's WhatsApp group as Real Madrid transfer was confirmed, "On the WhatsApp group, the last move there was Hazard’s farewell. He said goodbye to the boys and such, since then, we don’t know anything else. It’s weird.

"He sent a ‘thank you, I love you guys’, and then it showed ‘Eden Hazard left the group’. I said damn, he really left."

His parting act on the field was to lead the Blues to Europa League glory against Arsenal in Baku before officially putting pen to paper with the La Liga giants.
