Kwadwo Asamoah has revealed that he will play a midfield role for the Black Stars in the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations tournament in Egypt.
The Inter Milan star boasts of versatile skills and can be used in different positions from defence to the middle of the park and further upfront as a creative hub.
Asamoah has been regularly used in left-back at Milan up to as recent as the last campaign, 2018/2019, but is ready to take up other roles in the team.
“I'm a player that can play in so many roles on the field of play: I can be a midfielder, I can also support the attack, I can play at left-back and also left forward," Asamoah told TV3.
“So we shared an idea and I told him he knows perfectly when I come to the midfield, I excel more than playing from the back because African football is totally different from [that of] Europe."
Ghana jetted into Egypt on Friday morning ready for the tournament, which kicks off today, June 21st in Egypt.
Ghana are in Group F alongside Cameroon, Guinea-Bissau and Benin. THey open their campaign against their West Africa opponents Benin on June 25th.
