Transfermarkt is known for its valuations of players when it comes to their transfer fees and they've rated the 20 most valuable players in the world with a recent study.

Clubs are ready to flex their financial muscle and break records in order to achieve their footballing objectives. With so many major deals already signed on the dotted line or in the pipeline, this could all change as the coming months unfold. It's no surprise to see the likes of Mbappe, Neymar & Sterling making the top ten, however, but who else is in there?

Youngsters flying the flag 🦋

Kai Havertz is only two weeks out of his teens and doing wonderful things for Bayer Leverkusen. Jadon Sancho, still a teenager, has also made a massive impact in the Bundesliga and shown that English players can flourish outside of the well-paid world of the Premier League.

At the other end of the scale, iconic 32-year-old Lionel Messi still cracks the top ten despite the fact that he's never likely to leave his beloved Barcelona.

Jan Oblak > David De Gea? 🧤

Manchester United goalkeeper David de Gea's future remains one of the hottest topics in global football from transfer window to transfer window, and perhaps that has affected his form and consequently his transfer value.

Atletico Madrid's star Slovenian shot-stopper Jan Oblak has overtaken him in the value stakes with a string of top performances and clean sheets over the last few seasons.

Pogba's status keeps him in the mix 👨🏿‍🎤

It's almost certain that the French World Cup winner won't be playing his football at Old Trafford next season. Rumours of concrete bids from ex-club Juventus and Spanish giants Real Madrid continue to gather momentum, and that might force Manchester United's hand so that they cash in before his value drops.

Premier League well represented in the top ten 🦁

Liverpool's superstar African duo of Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mané combine for a total value of €280m with Manchester City pair Raheem Sterling and Kevin De Bruyne in seventh and eighth. These really are four of the prime assets in the world's most popular domestic league.

Eden Hazard's recent move to Real Madrid grabbed all of the headlines and broke the €100m mark and that justifies his place here. PSG superstar duo Neymar and Kylian Mbappé tussle for top spot but it's the 20-year-old Frenchman who claims the title of the most valuable player in the world. Will he win the Ballon d'Or?
