Liverpool are reportedly in the last stages of finalising a deal for PEC Zwolle's teenage defender Sepp van den Berg, according to ESPN sources.
PSV Eindhoven had initially agreed to hold negotiation talks for the 17-year-old who has been heavily linked to Bayern Munich and Ajax Amsterdam.
The deal is set to be in the region of £2 million for the player who is in the final year of his contract - he has been tipped as one of the future stars to come out of Dutch football.
Van den Berg's medical is set to be completed on Wednesday and an official announcement from the club is to be expected before Friday.
Van den Berg made his first-team debut for Zwolle in 2017/18, featuring seven times in their Eredivisie campaign, before making 16 appearances last season. They had hoped to tie him to an extension, but could not compete with the clubs hoping to secure his services.
Despite the big move to the Premier League, the U19 Netherlands international will likely go into Liverpool's academy but will ultimately push to earn first-team placement.
As reported by ESPN FC, Liverpool will be patient during the summer transfer window, a policy which allows them to recruit game changers should they become available.
