Match preview 🏆

Italy comes into this as the favourites after topping their group. They lost 1-0 in their last group stage fixture (vs Brazil), ending a four-game winning streak. Scoring an average of 3.0 goals per fixture across that run, the ‘Azzurre’ have reserved their best until last recently, scoring five of their seven World Cup goals of 2019 in the second half.

Italy has conceded multiple goals just once in their last 12 games. That, coupled with the fact that nine of China’s last ten World Cup finals matches have produced under 2.5 total goals, means that we expect a low-scoring clash here.

Players to watch 🌟

Italy's Aurora Galli has scored five goals in her last six games for club and country, three of which have arrived beyond the hour mark. China’s Li Ying scored seven goals in five appearances at last year’s AFC Asian Cup, and the winning opener in their single win of this World Cup campaign.
