Barely three days after Rayon Sports confirmed that midfielder Djabel Imanishimwe had joined Kenyan Premier League Champions Gor Mahia, reports from Rwanda indicate that the player has now inked a deal with APR.
Imanishimwe has been spotted with the APR team as they began their preseason preps with reports indicating that he had inked a deal with the Rwandese giants.
Imanishime is believed to have been paid a sum of Ksh 900000 as the sign on fee by Gor Mahia with the Kenyan giants forking around Ksh 3M for his services.
Striking the deal was Gor Chief Executive Officer Lordvick Aduda who had traveled to Kigali to get the man who is to replace Francis Kahata who is already on his way to Simba SC.
Rayon Tweeted on Sunday: “We have reached an agreement for the transfer of Djabel Imanishimwe to Gor Mahia. We would like to wish Our Captain Djabel well as we say a fond goodbye. #ThankYouDjabel,”
Imanishimwe was a key figure during last season’s CAF Confederations Cup meetings between Gor and Rayon. He has been with the Rwandese giants for five years, leading them to four major trophies with 29 goals and 53 assists.
The player's name missed though when Gor Mahia confirmed the new faces that had joined the team on Tuesday.
