Ghana Premier League giants Asante Kotoko have parted ways with head coach CK Akonnor.
Following several unconfirmed reports in Ghanaian media that Kotoko have directed the coach to the exit door, Akonnor verified the news on radio on Wednesday.
“Yes it's true I am no more the coach of Kotoko. I have been asked to step aside but to take over as technical director. I can't comment,” Akonnor told Oyerepa FM.
The Former Black Stars international leaves the Porcupine Warriors after 11 months, which included qualification for the CAF Confederation Cup group stages.
