Match preview 📰

Morocco's perfect record in the groups after a last-gasp winner against South Africa will mean that they arrive at the round of 16 stages in confident mood. Benin, who went through the entire group stage unbeaten, will be a tough nut to crack, especially after they held defending champions Cameroon to a goalless draw last time out.

Five of the six group matches involving these two teams featured no goals or one goal and seven of Morocco’s last ten AFCON games have produced under 1.5 match goals. Morocco is likely to enjoy more possession and do more of the attacking but their lack of a cutting edge has been an issue throughout their group phase matches. Under 1.5 Goals is an appealing selection at 2.40 on betPawa.

Players to watch 💫

Hakim Ziyech is the creative fulcrum of Morocco's side and in a tournament where they have failed to click and turn out convincing and fluent performances so far, it just needs a moment of magic from the Ajax man to turn things around for them.

Benin striker Steve Mounie, on the books of Brighton in England, is suspended for the match and that's a massive blow for Michel Dussuyer's men. In his absence, it will be veteran Mickaël Poté that leads the line for the Beninese side, he has two goals in the tournament so far.
