Striker Anos Tembo is missing from Coach Aggrey Chiyangi's 24 man squad that travelled to Rwanda for the 2019 CECAFA Kagame Cup. Tembo was the most in-form striker in the MTN/FAZ Super League for the majority of the 2018 Super League season and scored 11 goals in 15 matches helping Eagles to qualify for their maiden CAF Confederation Cup appearance.
The former Red Arrows man has since fallen out of favour at Eagles. Other players who have failed to make the cut include dancing right back Mateo Ndashe, Joseph Mwindilila, Kizito Cheelo, Jonathan Manongo and Langson Mbewe, Lazarus Phiri and Progress Kalenga.
Zambia U20 midfielder Muma Mumba who joined from Zamcoal Diggers at the start of the 2019 transitional league season has made the cut alongside newcomers Andrew Kwiliko and Mangani Phiri.
Regulars like Spencer Sautu, Amity Shamende, Kennedy Musonda, Tapson Kaseba and Boniface Sunzu have all been included.
The tournament will run from July 6th to 21st across three venues; Kigali Stadium, Huye Stadium and Umuganda Stadium with the winner set to pocket $30 000.
