After maintaining their status in the Kenyan Premier League, Posta Rangers has dropped ten players as they prepare for the new 2019/20 season.
The team that retained their top-flight status via a playoff after overcoming National Super League side Nairobi Stima have already roped in Michael Apudo from Sony Sugar FC but have parted ways with a chunk of players too.
The dropped players include veteran midfielder Jerry Santos who has retired and is believed to have been elevated to the club’s technical bench.
Apart from Santos, another retired player who will be leaving the club is Joseph Nyaga. Others leaving include former Ulinzi Stars attacker John Nairuka, Herit Mungai, and Francis Manoah.
Others are, Dennis Ongeri, Bernard Arum, goalkeeper Eliud Emase and Martin Lule.
With head coach John Kamau having complained about lack of match fitness of his players last season, is believed to be going for young players with a series of those who he has worked with before.
The team will be looking to improve on their 16th placed finish last season. In that disastrous season, Rangers only won seven games, drew 11 games and lost 16 games.
