Daniele De Rossi has announced that he will end his long, illustrious playing career, according to Sky in Italy.
The 35-year-old has however decided to hang his boots entirely and will train his eyes on club management as he aims to follow after his father who is currently managing the Roma youth team. It is thought that the now-former midfielder was not keen on joining another club after 18 seasons with Roma.
The Roma legend is expected to follow in his father’s footsteps and begin a coaching career. De Rossi already holds a basic coaching license (level c) with the Italian federation as a World Cup winner. He would have to complete the Supercorsa Coverciano in order to get his UEFA Pro license.
