Match preview 📰

Tunisia needed penalties to get past the Black Stars of Ghana but they’ve yet to play at their best this tournament. Still, they’ve booked a place in the quarterfinals where their opponents will be surprise package Madagascar. The Malagasy got past DR Congo on penalties to keep their fairy tale alive and this one might go all the way to extra time too.

With Madagascar sitting as the second-most prolific side in the tournament, we expect goals here.

Key men to watch 💫

Marco Ilaimaharitra should return to XI after missing the last 16 victory over DR Congo due to suspension. He scored the goal in their first-ever AFCON win, the 1-0 success over Angola. Tunisia man Wahbi Khazri made a second-half appearance against Ghana because of a muscle problem but should be fine to start on Thursday. He's their designated set-piece specialist and could make the difference in a tight encounter.
