Kotoko boss confirms club is preparing without Pirates target Songne

Asante Kotoko boss George Amoako has said that his club must look ahead to a future without Yacouba Songne.

Amoako made his comments shortly after reports of Kotoko having rejected Orlando Pirates’ bid, but his latest feedback now suggests a deal is very close to completion.

“Kotoko is preparing without Songne Yacouba so I entreat the fans to forget about him. We are planning without him, that is why management has signed equally good players to replace him,” Amoako told Ghanaian media.

It now remains to be seen if Pirates will win the race for the sought-after 27-year-old Songne who is also wanted in Zambia by Zesco United and Nkana FC.
