Arsenal have reportedly agreed to sign Gremi forward Everton Soares, in a deal thought ot be around £36m, according to Fox Sports.
The reports further indicate that the forward will now complete a medical in Brazil ahead of his move to the London club.
Manchester United were also thought to be interested in Everton, and the Gunners' latest march might disappoint their Premier League rivals.
This latest piece of news might be a breath of fresh air for the side, who have not made any significant signing in the current summer window.
Lack of enough transfer funds has been touted as the main reason why no transfers have not been completed, with the club said to have set aside a meager £40 million.
The club is also in negotiations to sign defender William Saliba from St. Etienne, and they also remain in contention to snap up Kieran Tierney from Celtic, even though the valuation of the player still remains the issue.
The club also remains interested in Wilfried Zaha, but Crystal Palace's £80 million valuation has remained the stumbling block.
The club's fans are a furious lot, and a section of them penned a letter to the board calling owner Stan Kroenke 'not fit for purpose'.
